Ex-Richards Bay Star Joins Durban City FC

National First Division (NFD) club, Durban City FC, have struck a deal to sign former Richards Bay FC attacking midfielder, Ntsako Makhubela.

Makhubela has been a free agent since parting ways with the Natal Rich Boys in July.

According to reports, the 30-year-old was spotted training with Durban City (formerly Maritzburg United) earlier last month in the hopes of landing a contract.

Now, he has apparently signed a deal with the club, allowing him to stay in KwaZulu-Natal. Details regarding his salary and length of contract remain unknown.

Durban City are aiming for a comeback to the Premier Soccer League after their relegation in the 2022/2023 season under the management of Fadlu Davids.

With Makhubela on their payroll, the club aims to bolster their attacking options as they seek to make a strong push for promotion back to the top flight of South African football.

Durban City are currently sixth on the NFD rankings with 15 points.
