Fadlu Davids Joins Russian Club

Former Orlando Pirates co-coach, Fadlu Davids, is Russia-bound after landing a new position at Lokomotiv Moscow.

According to reports, Davids will serve as an assistant coach for the three-time Russian Premier League champions. He will be reunited with coach Josef Zinnbauer, who previously coached Pirates before returning to Europe in 2021, leaving Davids and Mandla Ncikazi to co-coach the team.

Davids then departed from the Bucs three months ago after his contract with the Soweto giants expired.

On Tuesday, 27 September, he confirmed his move to Lokomotiv Moscow on his social media accounts.

“It’s a major honour being a part of such a huge institution of Russian football,” the 41-year-old wrote. “Lokomotiv Moscow is well known amongst South African fans as it was the club of the late Jacob Lekgetho many years ago.

“I am here to be part of the future success of the club and it all starts today.”
