Gavin Hunt Expresses Interest in Signing Samir Nurkovic
SuperSport United coach, Gavin Hunt, has confirmed his interest in former TS Galaxy striker, Samir Nurkovic.
After falling down the pecking order under Sead Ramovic’s coaching, Nurkovic – who joined Galaxy last September – amicably parted ways with the Mpumalanga-based club last week.
Speaking to a local media outlet on Thursday, 19 September, Hunt admitted that he would like to sign the 32-year-old Serbian national to SuperSport.
“He’s a big option for us, obviously, if we can [afford him],” said Hunt. “He’s become available, but I’m not the bean counter, so it works differently.”
As the transfer window closes today, Friday 20 September, the 60-year-old tactician is eager for Matsatsantsa to finalise a deal with Nurkovic quickly.
“There is a hurry because we’ve got a game [against Royal AM] on Saturday [21 September], and we’re struggling up front. We’re playing midfield players there, so it is a problem for us. Hopefully, we can do something between now and me getting on the phone again [to enquire about new players].”
