“I Feel Okay”: Christian Eriksen Shares Instagram Message
The footballing world is breathing more easily following an update on the health status of Christian Eriksen after he collapsed during Denmark’s match against Finland over the weekend.
The 29-year-old midfielder unexpectedly collapsed on the pitch in the 43rd minute of the Euro 2020 game at Parken Stadium in Copenhagen on Saturday, 12 June.
His teammates were quick to form a barrier around their fallen squad member while medics rushed to resuscitate him. The incident shocked those watching the game, and left many fans praying for Eriksen’s recovery.
On Tuesday, 15 June, the Inter Milan player took to Instagram to share the good news that he was “feeling okay” from his tumble, which he confirmed was a heart attack.
He posted a photo of himself giving the thumbs-up from his hospital bed, with the caption: “Big thanks for your sweet and amazing greetings and messages from all around the world. It means a lot to me and my family.”
Ever the team-player, Eriksen added: “Now, I will cheer on the boys on the Denmark team in the next matches. Play for all of Denmark.”
