Jamie Carragher Warns Liverpool Owners About Salah Contract
English football pundit, Jamie Carragher, has issued a warning to Liverpool’s owners, saying they will regret not coming to an agreement regarding the terms of Mohamed Salah’s contract extension.
The 29-year-old forward is into the last 18 months of his contract at Anfield and the two parties are yet to find common ground.
Per reports, the deal talks are dragging as the Egyptian international is asking for £300 000 a week, which is £100 000 more than his current deal.
However, the Reds’ legend believes the club must agree to a deal with the free-scoring attacker before it’s too late. Salah has expressed a desire to stay, but says the final call rests with Liverpool’s administrators.
Carragher said: “Liverpool Football Club and the owners, I don’t think they’d be forgiven if [Mohamed Salah] left this club in the summer or in 18 months’ time.”
He added: “He’s a Liverpool legend, one of the greatest players the club has ever had, and it needs to be sorted sooner rather than later.”
