Kanye West and Kim Kardashian Finally Settle Divorce
After nearly two years of back and forth, social icons Kanye “Ye” West and Kim Kardashian have finally reached a divorce settlement.
Papers filed at a Los Angeles, California superior court on Tuesday, 29 November revealed that the former couple have reached an agreement on child custody, child support and property-related issues. The agreement averted a scheduled deposal for Ye, which would have resulted in a trial next month.
As part of the arrangement, the “Heartless” rapper will pay $200 000 a month in child support, as well as 50% of the children’s private security and private school, including college.
The celebrity duo began dating in 2012 and had their first child, North West, in 2013. The two fashionistas married the following year in a lavish ceremony at a Renaissance-era fortress in Florence, Italy.
However, after seven years of marriage and four children – which currently range in age from nine-years-old, to three-years-old – Kardashian filed for divorce in February 2021.
During the lengthy proceedings, Ye has reportedly gone through “half a dozen” lawyers – two of which he fired, the rest were said to have quit.
