Karim Benzema Attracts Transfer Window Popularity
Karim Benzema appears to be in high demand, with the latest news being that Arsenal are keen to nab him during the transfer window.
The latest rumours claim that Chelsea have been eyeing the 36-year-old Al-Ittihad striker for a short-term loan, but it looks like the Gunners are also interested in helping him exit the Saudi Pro League (SPL) side.
Benzema joined the SPL on a free transfer last June after serving a glorious 14 years with Real Madrid – during this time, he scored 354 goals across 648 games, while winning four La Liga seasons and five Champions Leagues titles.
Despite his impressive track record, Benzema has experienced difficulty adjusting to the Saudi Arabian top-flight competition and has cast his eyes back to Europe, especially after English midfielder Jordan Henderson left SPL side, Al-Ettifaq, for Dutch team Ajax.
Both the Blues and Gunners are hungry for more scoring firepower, but neither has made a concrete move for him as of yet.
