Liverpool Sign £60m Midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai

Liverpool have revealed their latest signing: RB Leipzig midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai, who will join on a five-year deal for £60 million.

The Reds shared the news via their official website on Sunday, 2 July, explaining that the agreement will be subject to the 22-year-old Hungarian receiving a British work permit.

When asked how he felt about the transfer during his first interview at the AXA Training Centre in Liverpool, England Szoboszlai said: “It’s really, really good.”

“[A] really historic club, really good players, good coach, everything is good. For me, it was perfect to make the next step in a club like this. The fans, the stadium, everything is really good,” he enthusiastically added.

Manager Jurgen Klopp also seems happy with the latest addition to his squad, as he told an international publication on the same day: “This is a signing for our present and also for our future, and the work that has gone into it could not be more appreciated.”

The Hungary captain will be joining the club alongside midfielder Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton, who crossed over to Liverpool for £35 million at the beginning of June. The two newbies will bolster the Reds’ attacking force as they prepare for the 2023/2024 season.
