Man United Eye Diogo Costa Move
Manchester United are looking for a fresh pair of goalkeeping hands and FC Porto’s Diogo Costa looks like a prime candidate.
Current United keeper, David de Gea, is in the last 12 months of his contract with the Red Devils, and coach Erik ten Hag is looking to secure a replacement beforehand.
Costa has proven to be a consistent shot-stopper for Portugal, but his club are reportedly not willing to part with the 23-year-old during the January transfer window, while asking for €75 million before he will be released from his deal.
Despite the obstacles, United remain committed to bringing the Portuguese keeper to the English Premier League, and luckily have the option of extending de Gea’s services for another year should they be unable to obtain Costa’s signature.
He was part of the squad that played in the recent 2022 FIFA World Cup, and also boasts UEFA Champions League experience, making 19 appearances with nine clean sheets, while conceding 16 goals overall.
