Man United Thrash Liverpool 4-0 in Friendly Game
Manchester United are making headlines after their victory against Liverpool during a friendly match in Bangkok, Thailand on Tuesday, 12 July.
The game – held at Rajamangala National Stadium – ended with an impressive 4-0 win for Man United, despite Liverpool’s manager, Jurgen Klopp, starting the day confident of winning.
The Reds opened the match with five teenagers and held off on introducing their big guns – like forwards Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez, and defender Virgil van Dijk – until 61 minutes into the 90-minute game.
United’s line-up, however, was far closer to what would be expected during the opening English Premier League weekend, as it included forwards Jadon Sancho and Anthony Martial, as well as midfielder Fred.
Erik ten Hag, who took the position of coach at Man United less than two months ago, has mentioned that he is “satisfied” with the game.
He also went on to say, “We must not overestimate this result, but still I have seen some really good things. We have a lot of creativity and speed up front. Like I said, we have potential.”
Both teams will face off against new rivals this Friday, 15 July: Liverpool will face Crystal Palace at Singapore National Stadium in Kallang, while the Red Devils will battle Melbourne Victory on their home turf at Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia.
