Megan Thee Stallion Files for Restraining Order

Megan Thee Stallion’s legal issues with Tory Lanez continue as she seeks a restraining order against the imprisoned singer.

In 2020, Lanez – real name Daystar Peterson – shot Thee Stallion in the feet while both were travelling from a party in an SUV.

Two years later, the 32-year-old “Say It” hitmaker was convicted of three felonies: assault with a semi-automatic firearm; having a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle; and discharging a firearm with gross negligence.

Earlier this week, Thee Stallion – real name Megan Pete – filed a petition at the Los Angeles Superior Court in Los Angeles, California. In it, she requested the judge to prevent Lanez from harassing her via third parties.

“Even now, while behind bars, Mr Peterson shows no signs of stopping,” the court document reads. “Despite being sentenced to 10 years in prison for shooting Ms Pete, Mr Peterson continues to subject her to repeated trauma and revictimisation.”

These third parties include social media bloggers, whom the “Mamushi” rapper accuses of tarnishing her reputation online by questioning the validity of the aforementioned shooting incident.

A court hearing for the restraining order has been scheduled for 9 January 2025.
