Messi Feels Frustrated in France
It seems that Lionel Messi is fed up with a handful of things since he joined Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).
The 34-year-old Argentine shockingly joined the Ligue 1 giants in August when it became clear that Barcelona would be unable to afford him for much longer once his contract expired in July.
His time with the Catalans – from 2004 until 2021 – saw Messi find the back of the net a record 672 times across 520 appearances. He also holds the record for most La Liga goals scored at 474, as well as 36 hat-tricks in the competition.
However, the past two months haven’t been smooth sailing for the six-time Ballon d’Or winner since the French press started sharing details of his £94 million, two-year contract and home-hunting exploits, with some outlets going so far as to interview estate agents.
Reports claim that he felt more at home in Spain since he got to enjoy his privacy there, leaving him with a sullen look whenever cameras are around in France
So far, Messi has yet to score a goal in his three appearances for PSG, causing management and fans some concern.
