Monday Motivation: 26 June
Got the Monday blues? Reclaim the day and set the tone for the entire week with these helpful, motivational tidbits:
“Some people dream of success while others wake up and work” – Winston Churchill, British prime minister
We all nurture dreams of success and the perks that come with it: wealth and respect are synonymous with success, although we tend to overlook the sense of self-confidence, security and joy that we also stand to gain.
Nevertheless, the attainment of any and/or all of these things takes a great deal of discipline, commitment, persistence and action. If you apply yourself, you will be able to accomplish your dreams of success. Remember, your dreams are there to drive you forward, but they shouldn’t hold you back from trying to achieve them.
“If you look at what you have in life, you’ll always have more. If you look at what you don’t have in life, you’ll never have enough” – Oprah Winfrey, US media personality
Despite the pitfalls you may experience or have experienced, life has its equal share of blessings, too. Its beauteous bounty is enough to relieve even the most distressed or hardened of hearts.
Though there may be days where there are setbacks, there are also days when you can celebrate. Be grateful for the things you have, instead of mulling over the things you lack. Don’t let negative situations hold you down when there are positives in your life for you to enjoy.
“Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day-in and day-out” – Robert Collier, American author
A journey takes a thousand steps (or more!) before one can reach one’s destination. Along the way, there will be stepping stones to jump over without slipping. As such, you’ll feel compelled to tackle these all in one, big fell swoop.
Each stone presents opportunities or challenges that need to be carefully dealt with. Even if you do slip, learn from the experience so that you can make the next jump with confidence and dedication.
Take each stepping stone one at a time – in other words, break these opportunities and challenges down into small chunks. That way, they feel manageable and thus easier to accomplish. Don’t forget to take a break and reward yourself each time you achieve a chunk – it helps you to keep self-motivated, inspired and steady on your feet!
