Motaung Rubbishes Mhango Transfer Rumours
Kaizer Chiefs coach Bobby Motaung has denied rumours the club is looking to add Malawian international, Gabadinho Mhango, to their ranks.
Per recent reports, Mhango – who plies his trade as a striker for AmaZulu FC – is allegedly being targeted by Amakhosi. What’s more, the 30-year-old is said to be in talks with other clubs as well, although he’s not a free agent as of yet.
“There are definitely discussions underway for him to move from [AmaZulu],” explained his agent, Mike Makaab, in a radio interview with “Gagasi FM” on Monday, 31 July.
“It doesn’t seem that he is in [new coach Pablo Franco Martin’s] plan, but the club has to respect that he has a contract and we will do everything in our power to ensure that we’ll find a solution, because it’s important that both football club and football player are happy.”
However, when it comes to Mhango possibly joining Chiefs, Motaung shot that idea down.
“I don’t have names [of incoming players] at the moment,” he explained during an interview with a local soccer outlet on Saturday, 29 July. “[Sporting director] Kaizer Motaung Jnr handles that aspect while I focus on managing the team and the football environment. But not Gabadinho Mhango.”
