Mthethwa, Zungu Join AmaZulu FC
Two new players have joined AmaZulu FC.
On Tuesday, 17 December, the Durban-based outfit released the following statement on their website:
“AmaZulu Football Club have officially secured the services of versatile defender, Sandile Mthethwa (27), and experienced central midfielder, Bongani Zungu (32), ahead of the second round of the Betway Premiership campaign.
“Both players join Usuthu on permanent deals as free agents following successful medicals.”
Mthethwa, who previously played for Orlando Pirates, expressed his excitement about this new opportunity: “I will do everything within my power to make my mark in the history of AmaZulu, lift my family name, and help the club return to the top four.”
As for Zungu, who is best known for his previous stint with Mamelodi Sundowns, he said, “My personal goal is to help the team climb as high as possible on the log table, assist the younger players and bring my experience to the squad.”
AmaZulu currently sits in 13th place on the Premier Soccer League table with nine points. Here’s hoping that the newly-signed duo can enhance Usuthu’s performance as the 2024/25 season progresses!
