Mzansi Icons Head to Cape Town for Historic “Abantu” Concert
Zakes Bantwini has curated the perfect line-up for his upcoming concert, “Abantu”, aimed at those ready to take pride in their South African heritage.
The jam-packed event will take place at the DHL Stadium in Cape Town, Western Cape on Saturday, 28 October. Well-known local musos like Nomcebo Zikode, Sun-EL Musician, Goldfish, K.O, Ami Faku, TRESOR, Major League DJz, YoungstaCPT, Boity, and many more will light up several stages.
However, Bantwini has decided that he’d like to offer his patrons more than just a selection of good music.
Taking to Instagram on Sunday, 22 October, the 43-year-old singer announced that they will also be showing a live screening of the Rugby World Cup finals as South Africa and New Zealand go head-to-head in France on the same day.
“It’s with great pleasure and excitement that we announce the country’s biggest fan park and World Cup Final screening at the DHL Stadium … We will be screening the full game,” Bantwini proclaimed proudly on the social media platform.
The announcement received a flood of positive comments, with some calling it the “best decision ever”, while others immediately began asking where they could get their hands on tickets.
