Mzansi Unimpressed with Big Zulu Despite Knock-Out Win
Mzansi tweeps seem to have one thing on their mind: seeing rappers Big Zulu and Cassper Nyovest going head-to-head in the boxing ring.
Big Zulu, known privately as Siyabonga Nene, claimed a first round knock-out victory over Brian Dings – a former bodyguard turned reality show star – on Sunday, 23 April, in Johannesburg, Gauteng. However, tweeps have remained unimpressed with his success.
During the intense training for the match, Nene lost an impressive 13kg which he revealed in an Instagram post building up to the boxing match. On Thursday, 20 April, the notorious rapper had announced that he was “ready” for his upcoming match titled “Clash of the Chiefs”.
Many in Mzansi wildly speculated that the title meant Nene would finally be facing his long-time rival, Nyovest, in the ring, but were sorely disappointed to discover that Dings would be featuring in the match instead.
Tenacious tweeps took to the social media platform to mock everything from Nene’s stance to his boxing style, leaving no insult-riddled stone unturned.
“He must just stay far away from Cassper…. I mean what is this? At least Cassper has boxing basics,” Twitter user Nnditsheni Kutama said in response to a video of the match.
