Nabi “Loves” Mfundo Vilakazi Following 2-1 Win
Kaizer Chiefs coach, Nasreddine Nabi, has nothing but praise for teenage midfielder, Mfundo Vilakazi, following the club’s season-opening Betway Premiership match.
On Saturday, 14 September, young Vilakazi proved his mettle: with just 11 minutes remaining on the clock, he snatched a vital goal that sealed a 2-1 victory for Amakhosi over Marumo Gallants at Bloemfontein Stadium in Bloemfontein, Free State.
In a post-match interview with a local media outlet, Nabi spoke highly of the talented 18-year-old midfielder.
“Vilakazi is a young boy, he has a big talent and I do protect him. I protect him from the media,” the Tunisian tactician gushed. “He’s a big talent in South Africa; I love him, so I need to protect him.”
Following their first victory of the season, Kaizer Chiefs have climbed to the top of the Premier Soccer League rankings with three points, while Marumo Gallants find themselves struggling in 15th place with no points.
