Rema, Odumodublvck and Harcher Shine at the 17th Headies

The 17th Headies Awards, held on Sunday, 27 April, were a celebration of African music, with major wins for Rema and Odumodublvck.

Taking place at the Landmark Event Centre in Lagos, Nigeria, Rema’s “HEIS” album triumphed, taking home both Album of the Year and Afrobeats Album of the Year, while Odumodublvck claimed the Next Rated accolade. Chike and the late Mohbad also shone with Best Collaboration for their track “Egwu”.

Although not nominated, Bullion Records’ Harcher made a memorable impact, capturing attention with his confident red carpet appearance and heartfelt interview. Fans quickly rallied behind the fast-rising artist, seeing his time in the spotlight as just the beginning of a promising career.

The evening was also a celebration for performers like Burna Boy, who was recognised for his live performance, and Davido, who won Artist of the Year. The Headies, once again, were a major success as a platform for elevating African music, showcasing both established and emerging talent set to dominate the global stage.
