Attacking midfielder Rodrigo Mora strongly believes that FC Porto has what it takes to bring home the UEFA Europa League trophy.
This Thursday night, 13 February, the Dragons will face AS Roma in a knockout phase play-off tie at Estadio do Dragao in Porto, Portugal.
Although Roma is currently ranked 15th in the Europa League standings, they will need to pull out all the stops to beat their hosts, who are sitting in 18th place.
In a recent interview with UEFA.com, Mora is optimistic that Porto can go all the way and win the tournament.
“I have always watched a lot of highlights of the matches, and my father often talked about [Porto’s] Europa League victory in 2011,” the 17-year-old wunderkind explained. “When we won it, I was still young, but it was an important trophy for the club.
“We want to win it again this year,” he went on. “It is an honour to play in one of the biggest clubs in the world, and for that I am very happy.
“I grew up in Porto, I have been playing for Porto since I was nine years old, and I have always dreamed of playing in the first team and in the Europa League. I have always given my all to represent this club.”
