Saka Injury Worries Arteta Ahead of Weekend Clash
Arsenal coach, Mikel Arteta, is no doubt pondering how the English Premier League (EPL) match against Manchester City this Sunday, 8 October, will go, but he most certainly hopes Bukayo Saka will be ready by then.
The 22-year-old winger has been an integral part of Arteta’s attacking stratagems, but he looked uncomfortable during the Gunners’ UEFA Champions League 2-1 loss to RC Lens on Tuesday night, 3 October.
Saka limped off the pitch after thirty minutes following an attempt at a back-heel, causing what reports claim is a possible hamstring injury.
The day after the defeat, the Arsenal boss gave an update on his star player’s health, stating that they “don’t know anything more”, but Saka coming off was enough to cause concern.
The odds are looking grim for the Gunners should they face City at Emirates Stadium without Saka, but either way, Arteta will lean more heavily on Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli to help their side progress in the EPL.
