Southgate Replaces Alexander-Arnold with White

England’s manager, Gareth Southgate has replaced the injured Trent Alexander-Arnold with Brighton defender, Ben White, in his 26-man squad for Euro 2020.

The Liverpool defender limped off the field towards the end of England’s clash against Austria on Wednesday, 2 June, and was later reported to have suffered a thigh injury, which ruled him out for approximately 3 weeks.

Southgate was left with no choice but to replace the defender after the huge injury blow.

The coach has named White as the replacement, after the Brighton star has impressively proved that he’s versatile enough to fit as both a defender and a midfielder during England’s 1-0 win over Romania on Sunday, 6 June.

Following the announcement, White took to Twitter to celebrate by posting a picture of himself wearing an England jersey with the caption: “Beyond proud and honoured! I’ll give it my everything.”
