Spurs Run Riot Over Everton 5-0
Tottenham Hotspur have chalked up their second win since 26 February after thumping Everton FC 5-0 on Monday night, 7 March.
Playing on their home turf at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Antonio Conte’s men opened the scoreboard at the 14th minute when Everton defender, Michael Keane, scored an own goal. Three minutes later, Son Heung-min cruised past Jordan Pickford with a stunning strike.
At the 37th minute, skipper Harry Kane scored his 175th English Premier League (EPL) goal; nine minutes later, team-mate Sergio Reguilon fired home past the far post.
In the 55th minute, Kane scored his 176th EPL goal. This allowed his team to gain a 5-0 victory over Everton, as well as ascend to seventh place on the EPL rankings.
This is Spurs’ second win in recent weeks, which were filled with match losses, save for their 4-0 win over Leeds on 26 February.
“A good game,” said Conte after the match, “but it’s not enough. The players and I want to fight for a position at the top of the table. We have to take this responsibility in the last 12 games to give everything. I want an answer from my players against Manchester United on Saturday [12 March].”
