Strasbourg Star Signed to RB Leipzig

Ligue 1 player, Mohamed Simakan, is heading to the Red Bull Arena after RB Leipzig signed him to a five-year deal.

According to reports, the 20-year-old French international – who plays as a defender for RC Strasbourg Alsace – will join the Bundesliga outfit in July for an estimated fee of at least €15 million.

Until then, he will remain at the French club for the rest of the season.

Leipzig director, Markus Krosche, praised the club’s new signing: “We’re happy he chose Leipzig, in spite of interest from a number of other clubs.”

He added: “[Simakan] is still young at 20 and has plenty of potential to develop, but has already become a key player at Strasbourg.”

Simakan also commented on the move: “I decided to join Leipzig because I believe it’s the best club for my career development. I want to integrate as quickly as possible and play my part in helping the club achieve their big objectives.”
