Thulani Serero Skips PSL to Join Emirati Club
Former Bafana Bafana midfielder Thulani Serero is heading to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Pro League.
According to reports, Serero – who previously played for the South African national team between 2011 and 2019 – was reportedly on the radars of three Premier Soccer League outfits: Mamelodi Sundowns, Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates.
Now, the 33-year-old midfielder has joined the Emirati team, Khor Fakkan. Details around his salary are scarce, although earlier this week he apparently reached a deal with the club that will see him playing at Khor Fakkan for at least one year.
Prior to this signing, Serero played for Dutch outfit, Vitesse, from 2017 to 2019; he then made a jump to the UAE Pro League, where he joined Al Jazira. He made 90 appearances for the Emirati club in the last four years.
Serero is expected to make his debut when Khor Fakkan take on Al-Ittihad Kalba this Friday, 15 September.
