Tottenham in Tug-of-War Over Harry Kane
Tottenham Hotspur are under pressure to secure their champion forward, Harry Kane, as Bayern Munich have shown they’re not messing around by flying into London, England to continue transfer discussions.
According to reports, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy met with the German club’s chief executive, Jan-Christian Dreesen, on Thursday, 13 July, to discuss the 29-year-old striker’s future. However, it’s believed that neither side was able to reach an amicable agreement.
The meeting follows Bayern’s second bid of £80 million pounds for Kane earlier this week, which was rejected by the English club. It’s currently unclear whether the Spurs will be willing to sell at all, as they are believed to be preparing to offer Kane a new contract worth £400 000-a-week in the hope of luring him to stay.
If Kane chooses to accept the deal, it would make the England captain one of the highest-paid players in the English Premier League.
Either way, the coveted star will be part of the Tottenham squad flying to Australia on Friday, 14 July, as they prepare for their first club-friendly match of the season. Next, the Spurs will be taking on West Ham United at Optus Stadium in Burswood, Australia on Tuesday, 18 July.
Will it be Kane’s last match with the club? Only time will tell!
