Tyla Stuns at Coachella with South African Flair

South African pop star Tyla delivered a show-stopping weekend at Coachella 2025, marking her festival debut with unforgettable style and energy.
Taking to the stage on Friday, 11 April, she wowed the Indio, California, crowd with chart-topping hits including “Push 2 Start” and her global smash “Water,” wrapping up the set with a surprise appearance by Becky G.
A standout moment came when she performed a smooth mash-up of her track “On and On” with Aaliyah’s classic “Rock the Boat”, blending nostalgia with her signature amapiano twist. Fans also praised her rendition of Daliwonga’s “Bana Ba”, showcasing her deep roots in South African music.
Offstage, Tyla lit up TikTok dancing to Uncle Waffles’ viral hit “Zenzele”, fuelling speculation of a possible collaboration. Her moves, shared with choreographer Litchi Hov, sparked a dance challenge online and further helped cement her status as the queen of amapiano.
The 23-year-old muso was expected to perform at the desert fest last year, but had to cancel due to injury.
With another set at the festival on the bill for Friday, 18 April, Tyla’s star continues to rise.
