Wizkid Scores 7 Nominations at Africa Arts Entertainment Awards
Nigerian Afrobeats sensation, Wizkid, has garnered seven nominations at the prestigious Africa Arts Entertainment Awards (AAEA).
The awards – which celebrate the achievements of musicians from across the continent – will take place in Kenya on 17 August.
The 34-year-old Grammy Award-winning artist – who is privately known as Ayodeji Balogun – is nominated in several key categories, highlighting his significant contributions to African music. These include AAEA Best Continental Male Artiste and AAEA Continental Artist of the Year. His acclaimed album, “S2”, has earned a nomination for Continental Album/EP of the Year.
In addition to his album nomination, Balogun’s impressive singles and collaborations have also received recognition. His track “Work Me Out” is up for Best Continental International Feature, while “Money & Love” and “Ebelebe” are both contenders for Best Continental Afro RnB Hit.
His versatile talent is further acknowledged with a nomination for Best Continental Afro Rap Fusion Hit for “IDK”.
The AAEA aims to honour and showcase the talents of African musicians, and fans eagerly await the awards ceremony, anticipating a night of celebration for music excellence.
