Zac Efron Wants to Play Marvel’s Wolverine
Zac Efron wants the bigwigs at Marvel Studios to let him play Wolverine.
The 35-year-old “Baywatch” actor has long been linked to take on the mantle of the popular character in the next Marvel Comics Universe (MCU) outing, and his recent appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” has made the hype even stronger.
When asked by host Jimmy Fallon about the rumours, Efron responded with, “Really? Wow, they could just call me. I think [Hugh Jackman] is still doing that pretty well, I got to give it to [him].”
Jackman has been in the role since the first “X-Men” film came out in 2000, and is set to flex Wolverine’s claws for his next appearance in 2024 for “Deadpool 3”.
Fallon then prodded the “17 Again” star (who is already acquainted with Jackman) to grab the opportunity, which prompted Efron to say that he has his “foot in the door” and will contact the “Logan” actor.
Despite fans thinking Efron is the right “type” to play Wolverine, the rumour mill last had him tipped to play MCU character, Adam Warlock, but that was handed to “Midsommar” actor, Will Poulter.
