Ansu Fati Picks Up Serious Injury
FC Barcelona are facing a tough 2024 as their star player Ansu Fati will be in recovery and rehabilitation for several months.
Last Saturday, 25 November, the 21-year-old wunderkind – who has been on loan to Brighton & Hove Albion since September – looked to be in pain while leaving the pitch during the first half of the Seagulls’ narrow 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest.
After 21 minutes of game time, Fati was substituted after making it apparent that he could not go on. It later came out that he has been struggling with leg muscle issues, and it is likely he could be out for eight weeks.
On Thursday, 30 November, Brighton coach, Roberto De Zerbi, gave an update at a press conference, declaring that Fati would be gone “for a long time.”
Meanwhile, reports claim that Fati will be permitted to recover at his home in Barcelona, Spain, as the La Liga giants have a vested interest in ensuring he is back on his feet as soon as possible.
