Bob Dylan Hit with Sexual Abuse Lawsuit
Renowned singer-songwriter, Bob Dylan, is being sued for the alleged sexual abuse of a minor nearly 60 years ago.
According to a lawsuit recently filed in Greenwich, Connecticut, the “Hurricane” hitmaker plied the plaintiff known only as “J.C.” – who was 12-years-old at the time – with alcohol and drugs, before sexually abusing her multiple times in 1965.
These incidents allegedly took place over a six-week period between April and May at Dylan’s apartment in New York City’s Chelsea Hotel.
The lawsuit adds that the 81-year-old singer purposefully established a connection with J.C. – now 68-years-old – to “lower her inhibitions with the object of sexually abusing her … coupled with the provision of drugs, alcohol and threats of physical violence, leaving her emotionally scarred and psychologically damaged to this day.”
She is now seeking unspecified damages and a jury trial against Dylan based on charges of assault, battery, false imprisonment, and infliction of emotional distress.
A spokesperson for the singer has denied the allegations, saying: “This 56-year-old claim is untrue and will be vigorously defended.”
