Britney Spears Turns 40 Amid Marriage Rumours

Britney Spears is having the best run of luck lately, and her fans are here for it.

The pop icon celebrated her 40th birthday on Thursday, 2 December, and she has plenty to be happy about, including the end of her controversial conservatorship of nearly 14 years, which was announced last month.

Spears shared her joy on Instagram yesterday, showing off her little floral orange dress while standing in front of a large Christmas tree.

In the caption, she wrote: “I’m not turning 40 … I’m turning 4 and if any of you haven’t HEARD [sic] … I did almost 250 shows in Las Vegas for 4 [sic] years and went out twice.”

However, the cherry on the cake is the rumour that the “Toxic” hitmaker and fiance Sam Asghari – who are currently on vacation in Mexico – might already be married.

The pair got engaged in September ,but a sneaky caption in Asghari’s last Instagram post on his fiancee’s birthday has fans buzzing.

Underneath a photo of himself embracing and kissing Spears, he wrote: “I call you Lioness because I admire your relentless strength, I’m inspired by your beautiful heart, I celebrate your smile that lights up my world. Everyday is your birthday my queen. Happy 1st birthday to my wife [sic].”
