Burna Boy Blasts Critics Over Free Concert in Burkina Faso

Nigerian superstar Burna Boy has lashed out at criticism of his plan to host a free concert in Burkina Faso.
The 33-year-old Afrobeats sensation shared his frustration over negative comments targeting his initiative via Instagram on Monday, 2 June.
Burna Boy defended his intentions, dismissing claims that the Burkinabe president, Ibrahim Traore, had rejected him. He insisted his motivation was purely altruistic, and not driven by personal gain or recognition.
“I owe no one anything,” he declared. “My integrity is unquestionable.”
The outspoken artist was particularly irked by those he felt made no meaningful contributions to the discussion. He also expressed disbelief at several offensive remarks, sharing his thoughts in typically bold fashion: “Burn in hell if you said anything negative.”
While Burna Boy is no longer expected to perform in Burkina Faso amid the country’s volatile political climate, his European tour continues to make headlines. Having recently sold out major venues in Paris, France, and Manchester, England, anticipation is building for his upcoming album, “No Sign of Weakness”, slated for release later this year.
Love him or loathe him, Burna Boy certainly knows how to keep fans – and critics – talking.
