Chiefs in Talks With Coach Nasreddine Nabi

Yet another high-profile name has been thrown into the ring as a potential candidate to take up the mantle of Kaizer Chiefs’ new coach.

For the past few months, Chiefs have been scouring both the local and international soccer scenes for their next coach. So far, Vanderlei Luxemburgo of Brazil, Alexandre Santos of Portugal and South Africa’s own Pitso Mosimane have cropped up as possible contenders for the role.

Now, it has been reported that Luxemburgo, Santos and Mosimane are no longer on the straggling club’s radar – instead, Amakhosi are keen to hire Tunisian coach, Nasreddine Nabi, who currently manages Moroccan club FAR Rabat.

What’s more, club officials are already in “advanced” discussions with Nabi’s representatives about making a managerial move to South Africa.

However, there are special conditions that would need to be met, one source recently explained to a local soccer outlet.

“Coach Nabi has his own people who he wants to bring … and that’s what they have to agree and compromise on,” the source explained. “He wants his own assistant coach, goalkeeper coach and fitness trainer.”

This means that if Nabi gets his way, then Dillon Sheppard, Aubrey Mathibe, Rainer Dinkelacker and Bhekumuzi Maluleka among others could potentially lose their jobs at Chiefs.

Here’s hoping both parties can determine a solution that benefits everyone in the long run!
