Edwin Gyimah Talks About Failed Magesi Move

Former Sekhukhune United defender, Edwin Gyimah, has lifted the lid on his failed move to Magesi FC.
After leaving Sekhukhune in June last year, the 33-year-old Ghanaian international was contacted by renowned player agent, Ratshibvumo “Rush” Mulovhedzi, about joining Magesi in Polokwane, Limpopo.
“I was supposed to have arrived in South Africa on [Thursday, 23 January], and I was meant to be in Polokwane the next Tuesday [28 January],” Gyimah explained to a local media outlet on Thursday, 13 February.
“But Rush rushed me because he said the club wanted me as soon as possible, and I ended up going there a day early, on [Monday, 27 January].”
However, negotiations ultimately fell apart, as Gyimah alleges that the 2024 Carling Knockout-winning club was giving him the runaround. When they finally did present the contract, it was not satisfactory.
“I was very much interested in signing and playing for Magesi, but the contract was not forthcoming,” he said. “When it did eventually come, it was empty, with only the club’s rules and things like that.”
In contrast, Mulovhedzi claims that Gyimah’s abrupt departure from Polokwane without informing the club led to the collapse of the negotiations.
“He trained for only one day and decided to leave … he wanted to change the terms of the contract,” said Mulovhedzi.
Magesi has yet to comment on the situation.
