Ex-Stellies Striker Strikes Out at Amakhosi
Kaizer Chiefs are apparently passing on signing former Stellenbosch FC striker, Fuad Johnson.
Two weeks ago, it was reported that the 19-year-old top scorer was “currently training with the Gauteng-based side and an offer could take place for the free agent, who recently parted ways with Stellenbosch in June” after his representative, Ashley Rasool, failed to negotiate better terms for him.
However, despite impressing coach Vela Khumalo, as well as the technical team, it seems that Johnson is no longer being considered by Amakhosi.
Instead, reports one local soccer publication, he is moving away from the Premier Soccer League in order to join Motsepe Foundation Championship side, La Masia.
Neither Johnson, Rasool, nor anyone from Chiefs or La Masia have commented publicly about these reports, so it remains to be seen where the striker will eventually end up in the future.
