Fleurs Looks Set to Stay with SuperSport
Looks like Luke Fleurs may have fallen off Kaizer Chiefs’ radar due to his current contractual agreement with SuperSport United.
Last week, it was reported that Amakhosi were “long-time admirers” of the 24-year-old defender and were looking to sign him ahead of the January 2023 transfer window in order to bolster their defences.
However, Stan Matthews, CEO of SuperSport United, recently confirmed to the media that Fleurs is staying put, as he is contracted to Matsatsantsa until June 2026.
“He is under contract for the next three-and-a-half years at SuperSport,” stated Matthews. “We are not under pressure to sell him.”
However, Matthews says he may change his tune if the club receives a good offer for Fleurs.
“If an offer comes in and it is an attractive offer and it is a good blend of the money that we are looking for … I think I have shown that willingness to be a trader.”
