Mbappe to Make Return in FIFA Intercontinental Cup Final
French superstar, Kylian Mbappe, will feature in the Real Madrid squad that will take on Pachuca in the FIFA Intercontinental Cup final.
Last Tuesday, 10 December, Mbappe sustained a left thigh injury during the first half of their UEFA Champions League match against Atalanta in Bergamo, Italy. He was forced to leave the pitch before halftime. Real went on to win the match 3-2.
As a result of his injury, the 25-year-old forward missed Los Blancos’ La Liga match against Rayo Vallecano on Saturday, 14 December.
Recent reports indicate that Mbappe is well enough to be included in Real Madrid’s line-up for the Intercontinental Cup final against Pachuca, set to be held at Lusail Stadium in Lusail, Qatar, on Wednesday, 18 December.
“Mbappe did some work with the rest of the squad and some on his own,” the club said of their final training session ahead of their trip to Doha on Monday, 16 December.
The starting line-ups for both teams have not been announced, leaving it unclear whether Mbappe will begin the match for Real or come on as a substitute.
