Salah Returns to Liverpool
Liverpool are skating on thin ice in pursuit of silverware, and their growing list of injured players has not helped – although one of their star strikers, Mohamed Salah, appears ready to return.
Salah picked up a mild hamstring strain while playing for Egypt in the African Cup of Nations last month, leaving him to sit out four English Premier League games. Two weeks ago, a “muscular problem” saw him missing the Carabao Cup final against Luton at Wembley in England.
However, the 31-year-old forward has been spotted training with the rest of the Reds, as they prepare to meet Sparta Prague for their Europa League match in the Czech Republic tonight, Thursday 7 March.
Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp shared his optimism with a local sports publication, stating that Salah had been training for two days and was “full of energy”.
“It is so good that he is back and you can see in his face [that] he is very happy. We want to be careful, we have to be careful, but in the middle of a super-intense period of the season, we need everybody and now let’s see how long we can use him,” Klopp shared.
